Sakhalin gas vector: the beginning of history (1930s - 1940s)

The publication is devoted to the practically undeveloped problem in Russian historiography-the formation of one of the key sectors of the economy of the Sakhalin region - the gas industry. On the basis of a wide range of archival data, the authors come to the conclusion that the initial stage of the formation of the gas business in Sakhalin, on the one hand, was not free from errors and omissions, on the other - was marked by major achievements that were of great importance for the subsequent development of the industry. The results of long-term studies are presented, which allow to draw a conclusion about the factors that hinder the study of the formation of industrial development of oil production in the early twentieth century, and, consequently, the production of associated, and then natural gas on Sakhalin.
