Synthesis and spectroscopic [IR, NMR (1H, 13C, 29Si)] characterization of methylsilyl N-arylsalicylaldiminates

摘要
Reactions of MeSiCl3 in 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 molar ratios with HOC6H4CH=NAr (Ar = C6H3Me2-2,6; C6H2Me3-2,4,6; and C6H3Et2-2,6) in the presence of Et3N or C5H5N as a base afford compounds of the type MeSiCl3-x(OC6H4CH=NAr)(x) (x = 1, 2, and 3). Characterization of all these species have been carried out by elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, and spectroscopic [IR, NMR (H-1, C-13 and Si-29)] studies.
