摘要
Multilayered dielectric structures are able to almost completely reflect the electromagnetic radiation. We propose a configuration for these structures which offers directive radiation for a common rectangular patch antenna using Bragg mirrors features at 18 GHz. The main objective is to narrow the quasi-semi-spherical beam from the patch antenna and, consequently, increase the gain. We present the analysis of our numerical results for the antenna radiation characteristics under the influence of the proposed structure. The result is an antenna improvement from 16.08 to 18.38 GHz bandwidth and 14.86 dBi gain.
