摘要
The European Union is deeply committed to improve the competitiveness and skills of the citizens, to enhance its support for digital transformation by innovation, investments and reducing the digital divides. The digital technologies are evolving in an exponential way, very fast with a powerful impact on the European economy and society. The digital transformation comprises the integration of new technologies and the conditions enabling their development. The key digital technologies refer to social media, mobile services, cloud technologies, Internet of Things, cyber security, robotics, big data and data analytics, 3D printing, artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence and advanced robotics represent a crucial expression of digital transformation, holding a deep impact on public services, employment, business models and competitiveness. The current paper analyses the connection between digital technology integration and competitiveness in the EU Member States. The idea of the paper is to correlate the digital technology integration indicators with the competitiveness indicators. In this context, the paper presents the correlations between the EU Member States concerning digital technology integration and competitiveness, in view to highlight their statistical connection. The research methodology comprises bibliographic syntheses, socio-innovative empirical researches, statistical analysis.
