摘要
Battery energy storage can be deployed for various applications in power systems. This paper focuses on the use of distributed batteries as additional control variables in a Security-Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC). In the proposed preventive schedule framework, batteries are dispatched in conjunction with the generators to avoid exceeding the continuous ratings on all branch flows under normal and contingency conditions. The SCUC problem is decomposed using Benders' method into a master problem for determining the optimal schedule for the generators and batteries, and a set of sub-problems for post-contingency security check. Case studies based on a modified IEEE RTS-96 system verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
