摘要
The elastic moduli and the Debye temperature were experimentally determined for a ternary alloy Ni75Al19Nb6 based on the intermetallic compound Ni3Al. The values of elastic moduli were used to calculate the energy of effective pairwise interaction by the bond-order potential method. Alloying is shown to increase the binding energy in Ni3Al. The result obtained is supported by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study of the electronic structure of the Ni75Al19Nb6 alloy. The local density of states (LDOS) was theoretically analyzed to reveal factors that determine the site preference for substitutional chemical elements used to alloy Ni3Al (with niobium and cobalt as examples).
