摘要
In this study, poly(n-vinyl 2-pyrrolidone/itaconic acid) hydrogels have been synthesized by gamma-rays in different compositions and their biocompatibility have been investigated as in vivo and some biochemical parameters of mice serum and histology of their tissues have been examined. By these purposes, poly(n-vinyl 2-pyrrolidone/itaconic acid) (P(VP/ IA)) hydrogels were implanted to hypersensitive mice (BALB/c). One and a half months after implantation, hydrogel implanted animals were sacrificed by ether anesthesia and the area hydrogel contacted with tissue was investigated by light microscope for histopathological identification of the tissue. Then the total immunoglobulin E (IgE) level was determined by ELISA. Differential white cell count was also made to better understanding of reaction between hydrogel and tissue. These poly(n-vinyl 2-pyrrolidone/itaconic acid) hydrogels can be directly used as biomedical materials. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
