On Plasmon Resonances of a Finite Plate Made from a Metamaterial

摘要
The article considers the two-dimensional problem of diffraction of a cylindrical wave by a dielectric plate of finite size, the medium of which has simultaneously negative relative dielectric permittivity and relative magnetic permeability. For an electrically thin plate made from such a dielectric (metamaterial), it is shown that the near-field features are related to surface wave (plasmon) resonances. The effect of loss of the medium and the position of the source of a cylindrical polarized TM-wave on plasmon resonances is studied.
