Electrorefinement of neodymium in chloride and chloride-fluoride melts

摘要
Relying on the analysis conducted in the paper, the approaches are proposed for selecting the optimum temperature and cationic composition of the chloride melt and for determining the advisability of using mixed-ligand halide melts in the metal electrorefinement. By the example of neodymium, the efficiency of removing the rare-earth metal admixtures as well as advantages and disadvantages of employing chloride-fluoride melts as compared to chloride melts from the viewpoint of lowering the content of admixtures of such metals-analogues as Y, La, Ce, and Pr are shown.
