The paper reports on the first observations of giant magnetic-field-induced bending effect in Ni-Mn-Ga-Co-Cu alloys produced by the melt-spinning technique. The effect was observed during bending exper-iments using ribbons that were initially annealed at 1173 K for 60 min in order to release the internal stress. Initiation of the bending effect was observed at very low magnetic field of 0.06T. The overall defor-mation, generated by external magnetic field of less than 0.2T, was composed of plastic as well as elastic contributions.
