摘要
When designing wireless networks with the goal of optimizing frequency use, the greatest problem arises from the interference. One way to combat this problem is through the implementation of power control algorithms that adjust the power of wireless devices so as to improve the quality of service for all users. Accordingly, choice of a power control algorithm is a crucial decision in the design of wireless networks. We have written a simulation program as a Matlab script that allows the user to select from six different power control algorithms. The program allows the user to graphically view their results and compare behavior of the algorithms under different circumstances. The user specifies the number of mobiles, the target signal to interference ratio (SIR), the maximum power allowed, initial values, and various algorithm parameters. The program then uses the selected algorithm to compute the power and SIR for each mobile. The results for a single algorithm or all six algorithms can be graphed. The program computes a square gain matrix whose elements are chosen at random, and whose size is determined by the number of mobiles chosen. It then computes power usage, interference and signal-to-interference ratios for each mobile.
