摘要
This paper presents a single-switch integrated-stage LED driver based on Cuk and Class-E converter. For the LED driver, a cost-effective characteristic is of main concern in general lighting application. Therefore, a single-switch integrated-stage structure is adopted in the paper. The Cuk converter works in discontinuous current mode (DCM) to realize the power factor correction (PFC) function. Meanwhile, Cuk converter has the continuous input and output current characteristic which can simply filter circuit design. The Class-E converter is operated in resonant working condition to transform power to the LED loads as the DC-DC converter cell. By integrating Cuk and Class-E converter, the cost of system can be decreased and power density can also be increased. At rated condition, the power factor (PF) can reach 0.995 and the efficiency can get 90%. A 100W prototype is presented to verify the validity of the presented LED driver.
