摘要
The present work investigates the wear performance of AISI 1040 steel under dry sliding conditions and its optimization using a Grey Relational Analysis (GRA). On a pin-on-disc tribometer, sliding wear tests were performed by varying the load (10-100 N), sliding speed (0.5-1.5 m/s), and sliding distance (400-1000 m). Three levels of variation were used in the test parameters. Taguchi's L-9 orthogonal array (OA) was used in the present experiments. GRA was used to predict an optimal condition (load 50 N, sliding speed 0.5 m/s, sliding distance 700 m) that would result in enhanced COF and wear rate of AISI 1040 steel under dry sliding conditions.
