Eigenvalue comparisons for a class of boundary value problems of discrete beam equation

摘要
We study the structure of eigenvalues of a class of boundary value problems of fourth order difference equation Delta(4)y(i) + b(i+2)y(i+2) = lambda a(i+2)y(i+2), -1 <= i <= n -2, Delta y(0) = Delta(3)y (1) = Delta y(n) = Delta(3)y(n) (1) = 0. The monotone behavior of the eigenvalues as the sequences {a(i)}(i-1)(n) and {b(i)}(i-1)(n) change is obtained in this paper. (C) 2011 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
