摘要
MAX phase materials with a special-layered structure have received much more attention due to their characteristics of both metal and ceramic materials. The possible reactions and phase evolution during synthesis of V2AlC phase were analyzed by thermodynamic calculation. Meanwhile, the stability of V2AlC in high-temperature environment was also verified. The results showed that the most suitable precursors for preparing V2AlC material are V2O5, aluminum, and graphite. Temperature has no obvious effect on the synthesis of V2AlC. The V2AlC material was successfully prepared using aluminum, graphite, and V2O5 powder at Ar atmosphere by powder metallurgy method.
