摘要
The agribusiness model was imposed on the production of grains in Argentina in the decade that began in 1990 and its benefits were indicated by different specialized publications, agricultural entities and a variety of academic works. However, there are not many studies that deal with statistical data on the economic convenience of adopting the model and the impact of public policies on the profitability of producers. This work seeks to specify, through the construction of statistical series on production costs and gross margins in wheat and soybean crops, the evolution of these aspects during the different stages of economic policy applied between 1990 and 2017 and, based on these data, considerations about some agribusiness assumptions. It exposes and analyzes some of the main texts referring to agribusiness in grain production and builds its statistics based on the information provided by the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange, the magazine Margenes Agropecuarios, the Institute of Argentine and Latin American Reality Studies (IERAL) and the reports made by the Experimental Agricultural Station of the Marcos Juarez subsidiary of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology.
