Error free operation of a 40 Gbit/s all-optical regenerator

摘要
The authors demonstrate the highest reported repetion rate regeneration of an optical data stream, using a mode locked fibre ring laser for clock recovery, and an optical decision circuit based on non-linear polarisation rotation. Error ratio measurements of the regenerated 40Gbit/s output confirm the fidelity of the technique.
