摘要
Currently researchers, focus on water contamination detection using probe method and cavity resonator method by measuring the S11 parameter and by calculating the dielectric constant of solutions. But, these experiments are not capable to detect the water contamination inside the underground water pipeline network. Therefore, this paper is presenting an experimental study of water contamination detection using ground penetrating radar (GPR). GPR measures the S11 parameter of drinkable water-filled buried PVC pipe at 10 cm depth for 3 GHz-4GHz bandwidth. Similar, S11 parameter measure for impurity mixed water filled buried PVC pipe. Both drinkable water and impure water S11 parameters have been compared and calculated the dielectric constant for drinkable and impure water. Results show the variation in the response, due to change in the dielectric property of the water inside the buried PVC pipe, which quantify the contamination.
