摘要
A huge rock slide took place on the right bank of river Satluj in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh on July 8, 1993 at around 14:30 hours, IST. This slide resulted in blockage and formation of an upstream reservoir of about 2 km length along the stream, The paper being presented embodies the technical finding resulting from the investigations covering geology of the area, mechanism of the land slide, nature of the material involved in the blockage and operations used to depress the water level in the reservoir created by the blockage for restoring operation of the upstream hydroelectrical power project.
