Quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization for security constrained economic dispatch

摘要
There are many inequality constraint and equality constraint characteristics in the generate units of power system. For example, the generation of each unit should between its minimum (P-Gi(min))and maximum (P-Gi(max)). The total system generation, including load demand of the system, the transmission losses and so on, indicates certain nonlinear characteristics of the system. This paper proposes a quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO) method for solving the economic dispatch (ED) problem in power systems. After lots of experiments on the representative system IEEE 30 bus, the results indicate that the dispatching performance using the QPSO is better than using the PSO algorithm or the Hopfield neural network.
