摘要
This paper presents the performance study of a three-phase induction motor with a rectangular stator core in order to decrease material cost, and proposes the use of appropriate rectangular design parameters without affecting motor performance. The magnetic saturation effect of the rectangular stator core and unbalanced three-phase currents deteriorate the performance of induction motors, thereby affecting efficiency, power factor, torque ripple, and so on. Loss and magnetizing current analyses were performed using FEM, taking into consideration the cut depth of the rectangular stator core. The results confirm the applicability of the lamination method in the use of a rectangular stator core. The verification of simulation results also shows the losses and currents of the induction motor.
