Application of the tangent stiffness method to 3-D structures using polyhedral elements

摘要
The solutions by the tangent stiffness method is perfectly compatible with the defined element behavior. Therefore, the method can distinguish the geometrical non-linearity caused by rigid body displacements from the other non-linear factors. This study proposes an application of the method to the 3D-analyses of solid structures by polyhedral elements. Numerical examples are to be clear around the geometrically non-linear phenomena of structures.
