We study from a mathematical point of view the asymptotic behaviour of micropolar fluids in lubrication theory. Different assumptions are made on the dependence of the micropolar characteristic numbers and of the Dirichlet boundary conditions for the velocity and the rotation, with respect to the small gap parameter. Various generalized Reynolds equations are rigorously obtained and second-order estimates are also given.
