A Single-phase to Three-phase Low-Power PWM Adjustable Speed Drive with Low Current Harmonics

摘要
An approach already introduced by the Authors to correct the power factor of three-phase high-power PWM adjustable speed drives is extended to low-power PWM adjustable speed drives for three-phase induction motors that have to be operated starting from a single-phase supply. After recalling the state of art for passive and active power factor correctors for single-phase power electronic apparatus, performances of the new PWM adjustable speed drive scheme are analyzed by taking advantage of several numerical simulations operated by means of the well known PSPICE package.
