Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as trainers of critical citizens and a vision of a more sustainable world, must be examples of sustainable organizations, as the way to defend sustainability is to believe and incorporate their practices in their daily lives. In this context, the central scope of the study analyzed sustainability through the use of a set of indicators at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology Education (IF), Campo Novo de Parecis campus, in the State of Mato Grosso. The methodology used is qualitative and quantitative, descriptive and as a technical procedure the systematic review of literature and documentary research. The main results reveal that four studies were searched in Brazil, based on the selection criteria, a total of 209 indicators were selected, and these were compiled into a set of 96 indicators, consistent and with the potential to be used as a reference for assess sustainability at IF Campo Novo de Parecis. It is concluded that the fragile / unsatisfactory indicators that deserve attention by the IF, Campo Novo de Parecis campus are linked to water, hazardous waste, socio-environmental sustainability and responsibility programs, among others (Labor exercises, Dental plan, Paper reuse, Sustainable landscaping and parking control).
