摘要
The contemporary trend to interpret landscape as a living entity has been conducted by the proponents of this philosophy with reduced participation of Geotechnics. However, a certain amount of concepts and requirements of landscape relationship with Man, depend on landscape stability and its long term behavior against geomorphic processes, such as water and wind erosion. Therefore, application of geotechnical methods for dealing with such problems as the study of rock and soil weathering including their resistance to gravity, external stresses and mass wasting phenomena, seems beneficial for the quantification of landscape Ecology criteria. Examples of this approach are presented.
