摘要
As part of the overall programme to determine the genetic doses to Bangladeshi population from medical uses of ionizing radiations, doses to patients undergoing x-ray diagnostic procedures were evaluated by thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetry method. The doses were measured using of Li2B4O7:Mn (TLD-800) TL dosimeter. The evaluation of the TLD measurements and the values of the entrance skin doses and effective dose equivalent for patients undergoing various x-ray diagnostic procedures in Bangladesh are described. The information derived from this study is helpful in calculating genetic significant dose and risk factors from medical uses of ionizing radiations and promoting resonable use of x-ray examinations.
