摘要
The present investigation was conducted at Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Horticulture Farm, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.), India during Rabi 2008-09. The experimental material comprised of nineteen genotypes alongwith two checks of tomato and the experiment was laid out in Randomized block design with three replications. Present findings suggested that improvement in fruit yield of tomato could be brought by indirect selection for the days to first flowering. Further, multiple regression analysis technique could be used to the precise selection for the independent characters viz, number of locules per fruit, fruit width, days to first flowering, days from fruit setting to red ripe stage having significant role in governing character the dependent characters.
