EVALUATION OF WETLAND ECOSYSTEM SERVICES IN CHAGAN LAKE NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE

摘要
This paper aims to evaluate the wetland ecosystem services of Chagan Lake and provide a scientific guide for the development and protection of this national nature reserve. First, an evaluation index system (EIS) was constructed according to the ecological and socioeconomic features of the study area. Then, multiple ecological economic methods were adopted, namely, the market value method, were adopted to calculate the nine indices, and derive the total value of ecosystem services of the study area. The results show that the total value of wetland ecosystem services in Chagan Lake amounted to 4.91 x 10(9) yuan; the nine secondary indices can be sorted in descending order of value as water storage>climate regulation>scientific research and education>biodiversity maintenance>soil conservation> material production>gas regulation>social security>water purification; water storage boasts the maximum value of 3.667 x 10(9) yuan, accounting for 74.4% of the total value of ecosystem services; climate regulation has the second highest value of 8.750 x 10(8) yuan, taking up 17.8% of the total value; water purification has the lowest value of 1.88 x 10(6) yuan, only 0.03% of the total value, indicating that the study area is weak in water purification. The research findings provide reference for reasonable development and planning of wetlands.
