This paper presents the concept of EPCIMS, followed by the significance of its application research in the development of Chinese national economy. Then it offers an analysis of the roles it plays in promoting the competitiveness of Chinese construction industry in the world together with the market demand, and proposes the objective of EPCIMS research and preliminary execution plan. Finally, a preliminary estimate is made of the anticipated social and economic benefits it will bring about..
