摘要
'Ustun' peach (Prunus persicae (L.) Batsch) is a local peach cultivar found at 1400 m elevation as a chance seedling of 'J.H.Hale'. Fruit is very firm, with yellow flesh and skin color with a red cheek. It ripens between October 5-20 at 1400 m and September 15 and October 5 at 1100 m elevations. It is firm enough to be transported; however, it has some disadvantages, such as a hairy skin and a very short fruit stem. To overcome these disadvantages and to improve the fruit quality, 'Ustun' was crossed with 'J.H.Hale', 'Monreo' and 'Rio-Oso-Gem'. Some individuals of 'Ustun' x 'Monreo', and 'Rio-Oso-Gem' x 'Ustun' combined good characteristics: good tree vigour, high resistance to Taphrina deformans, late flowering and ripening period, good productivity, and big fruit size.
