We report the magnetic and transport properties in the series La0.7-xDyxSr0.3MnO3 (0.0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.4). Susceptibility and resistivity studies show that La0.7-xDyxSr0.3MnO3 for x < 0.35 order ferromagnetically and show metal-insulator transition. Magnetic and transport studies show a gradual increase of antiferromagnetic interaction with x, ultimately leading to a spin-glass-like state for x > 0.3 compounds. The sample with x = 0.4 shows a dramatic increase in resistivity near the spin-glass ordering temperature T-SG. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
