Detecting small targets in infrared image based on wavelet transforms and image fusion algorithms

摘要
An algorithm is proposed for detecting small targets in infrared image and improving the detection ratio of single image. High-pass filters are used for image filtering to suppress background and remove part of noise. Wavelet transform is also adopted to obtain the information of the directions in horizontal, vertical and diagonal. Then according to the image fusion technology detect the small targets are detected in single image. This algorithm can reduce the number of the tentative tracks and detect the targets with high speed. The simulation results show that it can precisely detect the small targets in single image.
