摘要
A study was conducted to propose a new strategy to enhance CO2 capture over a nanoporous polyethylenimine sorbent. It was demonstrated that only 1 mol of amine sites was needed to sorb 1 mol of CO2 in the presence of K2CO3. It was observed that as a result of this, the amine efficiency could be doubled theoretically and CO2 capture capacity could be enhanced. Sorbents developed in this cost-effective method provided great potential to capture CO2 more efficiently and had a major impact on the advancement of current CCUS technologies. Fumed silica was used as a support to demonstrate the success of the proposed strategy for CO2 capture enhancement.
