Financial Management in Big Data Era

In contemporary society, there is increasing enthusiasm for the notion of "Big Data". Big data refer to reams of information not readily handled by the traditional data practices, presenting unprecedented opportunities. In Big Data era, the development of digitization and data explosion create significant possibilities for companies and their financial function. Financial managers already have big data to support a large volume of distributed, high-value information to help decision-making. Under such circumstance, financial management will be faced with both opportunities and challenges. This paper first aims to illustrate Big Data analysis and the impacts of Big Data application on financial management in terms of accounting data processing. Moreover, the ability of financial management of information integration and analysis will be challenged in the era of "Big Data". Therefore, this paper discusses challenges as well as new opportunities for accounting information providers, suggesting that through circumventing weaknesses and fostering strengths can make enterprises invincible.
