摘要
In the last years the changes verified in the environment drove to significant alterations in the management processes of public organizations. In order to provide more efficient government and better services to citizens, public organizations have invested in ERP systems. The interest generated by the ERP phenomenon in the public-sector is growing and the particularities of this sector make specific studies necessary. Just a few empirical studies have looked at public-sector motivations for ERP implementation. Based on the analysis of data from a survey of public organizations we seek, first, to characterize public organizations with regard to ERP. Secondly we try to identified and characterize the motivations that lead to the adoption of ERP Systems. Finally, our last aim is to identify and understand modules adoption in the public-sector. Empirical evidence reveals that the need to increase the demand for real-time information, to obtain information for decision-making and the integration of applications appear as main reasons to implement an ERP system. Finally, this study reinforces the need for more research that is focused on Public sector organizations.
