A robust adaptive beamformer for high-rate underwater acoustic communication systems

摘要
This paper analyzes the performance of the eigenspace-based beamformer with an imperfect steering vector caused by pointing errors, random errors and finite distance sources. From the derived output SINR, it is shown that the eigenspace-based beamformer achieves a larger output SINR and is less sensitive to the steering vector errors than the conventional beamformers. Theoretical analyses validated by computer simulations indicate the robustness of the eigenspace-based beamformer in the high-rate underwater acoustic communication systems.
