Anaphylaxis what patients should know about the life-threatening disease Patients who suffer from severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) or are at risk of anaphylaxis have a limited quality of life and need proper education and special training. The present article therefore aims to give guidance to allergists for the consultation of patients with anaphylaxis. Allergen avoidance strategies and their implementations suitable for every day life are important measures for preventing recurrent anaphylactic reactions In addition the article overviews efficient emergency management strategies including comprehensive education of patients and their social environment on emergency preparedness and sufficient care in case fan anaphylactic reaction. Exercise on the use of emergency medication, practical resources and training are aimed to provide assurance to the patients in dealing with this life-threatening allergic disease.
