Networked control system compensator design and stability analysis

By using an approximation of the plant explicit model, we propose a combination of compensation and estimation methods for delays and, packet dropout (CEDP) at the controller unit, to improve the performance of the networked control system (NCS). Considering a time driven sensor, an event and time driven controller, and assuming that the sensor data are transmitted at a fixed rate, the system obtained by using the CEDP is modeled as an asynchronous dynamical system (ADS) with rate constraint on two events. Then for the system exponential stability, we derive a time varying bilinear matrix inequalities (BMI). Simulations done by considering compensation for delays only, estimation for the plant state when data packet is dropout, are compared to the result obtained using the proposed CEDP method.
