A complex-valued function on (0, infinity) is said to be slowly oscillating if it is bounded, continuous, and differs from each of its translates by a function that vanishes at infinity. The family SO of such functions is a commutative C*-algebra. This paper studies the structure of the Gelfand space of SO.
