Two cases of women with bilateral inverted nipples, who bypassed correction of the nipples, having shown spontaneous nipple eversion after augmentation mammaplasty, are presented; breast implants caused the glandular tissue to push the nipples out of their inward position. This mechanism seems to work in umbilicated nipples (i.e., nipples that can be everted by contraction of the areola muscle), and it is worth being considered when planning correction of inverted nipples in candidates for breast augmentation.
