Influence of Surfactant on Pore Structure and Photocatalytic Activity of Mesoporous TiO2

摘要
Mesoporous TiO2 with different textural properties was synthesized using tetrabutyl titanate as the precursor and Span80, Span85 as well as Triton X-114 as the structure-directing agents. Textural properties were characterized using N-2 adsorption/desorption methods. Photocatalytic activity was determined using acetone as the reactant to study the influence of pore structure on the photocatalytic capability. The results show an evident effect of the type and amount of surfactant on the pore structure and photocatalytic activity. Samples with cylindrical capillaries exhibit better photocatalytic performance than those with slit-shaped or ink-bottle-shaped pores. Samples with greater surface area or larger pore diameter show better photocatalytic performance.
