The design, implementation and evaluation of a network-based university level course

摘要
The goal of this study is to develop a formative evaluation for evaluating aid improving a network-based course based on the e-Learning platform of KunShan University of Technology (KSUT). The main features of KSUT e-Learning platform includes course upload, online tests, electronic assignment upload, discussion board, chat room and network-based roll call, etc. As for the course planning, the Candle model (Meisalo 2002) has been adopted as the course design principles. With carefully planning of material presentation, online tests, and tracking of student's learning activities, this course has been implemented and is now a formal e-Learning class at the school. Perceived benefits and difficulties of the network-based courses have also been discussed on the local setting. Also, based on the result of the formative evaluation, the course has been modified to better fit students' needs, and suggestions for further development of the network-based courses have also been addressed.
