摘要
In vitro corrosion tests and optical and transmission electron microscopy investigations were performed on Ti40Ta and a Ti50Ta alloys in a preliminary evaluation of metallic implant potential. The passive behavior for these alloys was found to be nearly identical to a Ti6A14V standard. Microhardness values for these alloys were also higher than the Ti6A14V standard. The microstructures contained second phase precipitates which varied with composition.
