Phase-matched coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering in isolated air-guided modes of hollow photonic-crystal fibers

摘要
Hollow-core photonic-crystal fibers with a specially designed dispersion profile offer unique phasematching solutions for gas-phase coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) in isolated guided modes with a transverse radius of only a few micrometers. Efficient single-mode CARS tuned to a Raman resonance with 2331 cm(-1) Q-branch vibrations of molecular nitrogen filling the hollow core of the photonic crystal fiber is demonstrated using the second-harmonic output of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser and wavelength-tunable dye-laser radiation as pump fields.
