摘要
This paper presents the interpolative initiation algorithm Interpolative initiation is a variation on the ray casting approach that employs a user heuristic function to reduce the computational cost in generating imagery from volume data. Interpolative initiation delays the introduction of some rays until features of the data are detected by the heuristic function The result is a single-pass adaptive ray casting algorithm The use of the heuristic function allows the user to generate images over a range of quality and computational cost. It is possible to produce images near the quality of complete supersampling at computational cost less than other adaptive sampling algorithms, due is part to the one pass nature of this algorithm.
