Microwave density and concentration measurement for process control in the sugar industry

摘要
A new sensor for in-line density and concentration measurement based on microwave technology is now available. This advanced technology is suitable for controling the evaporation process or for measuring the density and concentration of the solution in a pipeline with excellent accuracy. Compared with competing devices such as gamma ray density meters, radio frequency probes, conductivity probes, ultrasonic probes, online-refractometer and viscosity/consistency devices, the new microwave probe gives the best correlation to laboratory measurements. This microwave measuring technology is the beginning of a new generation of density and concentration in-line probes.
