摘要
How to make efficient data routing is one of the key points in optical network-on-chip. Traditional routing algorithms solve deadlocks by prohibiting turns. However, it cannot provide uniform adaptiveness in optical network-on-chip, which results in unbalanced traffic as well as thermal-faulty nodes and thereby degrades the network performance. To achieve traffic balancing and thermal-fault tolerant, a traffic-balanced and thermal-fault tolerant routing algorithm (TBTFTA) is proposed in this paper which considers traffic and temperature information simultaneously. TBTFTA can handle the congestion and different types of thermal-faulty nodes by a distributed path selection strategy. Simulation based on OPNET is carried out to evaluate the proposed algorithm. The results show a lower latency and an improved throughput by 37.39%, 43.62%, and 49.32% compared with the traditional algorithm under various traffic patterns.
