摘要
Mass aspirated from a supersonic flow through bleed holes is both simulated and modeled to better understand the flow physics and demonstrate effective and efficient methods for modeling and simulating bleed hole systems when using the Chimera overset grid methodology. The OVERFLOW solver used for this investigation uses the Chimera gridding approach, providing flexibility in the grid-generation process. Chimera gridding allows for different grid blocks to overlap in the simulation, making it much easier to develop grids for complex geometries. OVERFLOWsolves the three-dimensional turbulent, Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equations.
