摘要
The second-order hyperpolarizability gamma of C-60 and its derivative C-60-poly-aminonitrile was measured using a femtosecond time-resolved optical Kerr effect. The results showed that the optical nonlinearity of C-60 was too low to be detected and an up-limit value of 9.0 x 10(-35) esu was offered for its gamma. However, a large enhancement of the optical nonlinearity for C-60-poly-aminonitrile was observed and the value of its gamma was measured to be as large as 3.2 x 10(-33) esu.
